Dan Heng sent a message to Caelus and March that he'd be delayed a little longer. He did what he could to reassure them that he wasn't in any danger, though part of him wondered if that was ever true. There is no truce with Blade, not really. There are still those on the Luofu that have strong feelings about Dan Feng and can't stop seeing them as the same person.
It's been some time now, with Blade leaving with the Stellaron Hunters and Jingliu...hm. She'll be sentenced, but will that sentence hold? He's not sure. Either way, for now, everyone has gone. The Express will leave soon, but Dan Heng waits.
He has decided to stop running from the karma of his past. Besides that, he's concerned about Jing Yuan. His injuries were pretty bad; even with the time he's had to heal, what if it isn't enough? Obviously, the general can take care of himself. There are other people around that can assist, too, but Dan Heng feels at least partially responsible for everything that happened. So he goes to the Seat of Divine Judgment to ask after Jing Yuan.
He half-expects to be turned away, or worse. True, his status here on the Luofu isn't as contentious as it was. He's still tense as he waits on the attendant to check before admitting him. He follows her silently through the halls to the rooms where Jing Yuan usually receives visitors. It's only upon arrival that Dan Heng realises this isn't the general's office, but a more personal room. He was expecting something more formal.
He doesn't sit, just stands kind of awkwardly while he waits. He turns toward the door a little too quickly when it opens.
Dan Heng clears his throat a little to save face and crosses his arms so he doesn't have to worry about what to do with his hands.
"General," he says, his tone as cool as always, though he manages the tiniest smile, if only for a moment. "I hope you're resting enough."
And insist, she did after realizing that he'd escaped from the confines of his quarters far too many times when he should be resting. A weaker man would've died from the wounds he received, and while such an argument would've been compelling to make against the Lady Healer's instructions to stay put, keep still, Jing Yuan didn't dare say anything if only to avoid risking ire from the tiny girl. At this rate, he'd find himself chained to his bed with at least 3 Cloud Knights patrolling the perimeter of the room.
No, he can't risk that, no matter how fun the challenge would've been. But he at least argued for a compromise: he'll stay put, he'll keep still but work has to be addressed, and there's only so much the Master Diviner can handle despite her fiery spirit.
It's for that very reason that the usual room where he receives visitors has been converted into a makeshift bedroom. His second office, as Jing Yuan calls it, with a sofa for reclining and a desk resting on the cushions already stacked with paperwork. And it's where Dan Heng will find him after his attendant announces his presence, his hand moving across a scroll as he's making annotations to a report.
He soon hands it over to Qingzu before he turns back to the younger male, returning that smile of his.
"Well enough, though I'm sure the Lady Dragon will beg to differ." He gestures at one of the nearby seats, thanking the attendant for their assistance. "My apologies for the current state of my person, however. Had I known you were visiting, I would've made sure to prepare."
Dan Heng nods at Qingzu, not wanting to ignore her. She moves away to take care of whatever other tasks await and Dan Heng slides into the offered seat. He's a little stiff, but that's just how he is. Relaxing has never been his strong suit.
"There's no need to change anything on my account," he says. He doesn't feel as much need to stand on propriety after all that's happened.
He's quiet for a moment, working out how he wants to go about asking his questions.
"You're sure you're all right?" he asks, finally, softly. He can't help but feel responsible for the injuries that Jing Yuan suffered, so this matters a lot more than the dozen questions he might have.
Then he takes a breath and says what he's thinking before he talks himself out of it.
"I…wanted to talk to you about the past. I'm not Dan Feng, and I have no wish to be. But I think I've run away from this for long enough. I…want to know about him from your perspective. Jingliu and Blade are both affected by mara, and by their own anger. I think you're the best person to ask."

"How may I be of assistance to you?"
